-Luisa
Luisa Parker is the original founder and owner of Elite Pilates Reformer Studio in San Antonio, Texas. She has operated Elite Pilates for over 7 years in the North Central San Antonio/Stone Oak area.
She was born and raised to loving parents in Guatemala, before immigrating to the United States and building her family in Texas. From a young age, Luisa loved performing, dancing, and exercising. She fondly remembers putting on dance recitals for visitors as a young child. As a teenager and young adult she competed in several fitness challenges, winning first place in a handful of competitions that featured her skills in dance, endurance, and overall fitness.
Luisa became a skilled dance performer and eventually translated this skill into her passion for teaching. She’s taught a variety of fitness classes from Zumba (an exercise form she helped pioneer in the San Antonio area), to spin, barre, and finally to Pilates Reformer.
She founded her company with a dream and a lot of persistence. At one point, when she had very little and a young son to raise on her own, she wondered whether it was all worth it. Throughout the years, as she’s persevered through the tough times, she’s always found joy in helping her clients become healthier, happier, and more able to do the things they love. One by one, Elite Pilates has grown in membership and in strength. Now, it truly is a family business, as Luisa’s son, Hugo, has joined her as a full time Pilates Reformer instructor. Luisa brings over 30+ years of experience to her studio every day. She trains private students and helps motivate her private class members to focus on mind and body strength.
She is grateful to her family for giving her the courage as a young woman, immigrant, and new business owner to keep going and continue sharing her passion for health and fitness with her community. She’s also immensely grateful to her loyal clients, some who have been with her since day #1, for their love, support, and enthusiasm – one million times over – we love you!
